Many tools export animations as a series of PNG images: Blender, After Effects, canvas recorders, AI image tools. web2vid turns that folder into one video file and keeps the transparency.
With the desktop app
- Click Select Folder and pick the folder with your frames, or select a .zip, or drag either onto the window.
- Set the FPS under Advanced to the frame rate you exported at (30 if you’re not sure).
- Pick a Format (WebM, MOV, GIF or MP4) and click Render.
Optional, under Advanced: Fade in and Fade out in seconds. They fade to transparent, not to black, or to your background colour if you set one.
Frame names and order
Frames are sorted in natural order, so frame_2.png comes before frame_10.png, with or without
zero padding. Extra files that aren’t PNG are ignored, and so are the __MACOSX and ._ files
that macOS adds to ZIPs.
From the command line
aether-renderer-core -i frames/ -o out.webm --fps 30
aether-renderer-core -i frames.zip -o out.mov --fps 25 --fade-in 1 --fade-out 1
aether-renderer-core -i frames/ -o out.mp4 --background '#1e1e1e'
All options are in the core docs.
